“War is one of the most severe attacks on human dignity, dehumanizing people to the point that they become a shell of what a human should be. It also strips a person of a fundamental right: Rest. No moments of silence to rest the mind when facing bombardment, no time to lie down and rest the body when facing famine and forced relocation.”
ARTIST BIO: Elizabeth Rockford is a multi-media artist who has always held a passion for using art as a form of advocacy. She is currently pursuing a degree in Sculpture and Ceramics at Xavier University. Her work explores themes of human dignity, sacredness, and respect for life.
