“When lines become defended separators, we find ourselves on a side. In this case it is a surprise- the line has more substance than the spaces it divides – neither side seems any more desirable, questioning the hardened and battle-ready structure.”
ARTIST BIO: Kirk Mayhew has a BA from Coe College (1997) and an MFA (2000) from the University of Cincinnati. He has been teaching ceramics, 3D arts and technical theatre at Thomas More University since 2010. Kirk has had a variety of exhibitions around greater Cincinnati since graduation.
