“My photograph represents the image of the wagon train that transported Jews to Auschwitz Birkenau on which I layered seven images of former students. It illustrates my concern regarding the current cultural war in the United States, and Trump’s Executive Orders creating a political dystopia.”

ARTIST BIO: J. Michael Skaggs received his MA in Speech Communication from Montclair State University and his BA in both Media Arts and Sociology from Jersey City State College. He has taught Public Speaking, Media in a Diverse Society, Introduction to Communication Studies, and Photojournalism at Northern Kentucky University (NKU) since 2000. Michael retired at the conclusion of the Spring 2023 semester and currently teaches as an Adjunct Instructor at NKU.
