ARTIST BIO: A retired art historian, Cecie Scearce Chewning joined CBAS and discovered she loved making artist’s books. Her studio is her kitchen counter, so her work is usually small. It can be about anything and made of anything. Sometimes words are the focus, sometimes images, sometimes both. The message is what’s important and determines a book’s two- or three-dimensional form. Cecie has used drawing, watercolor, collage, papier-mache, fabric, photography and pressure printing.
