“‘30 Million to Zero’ is my take on the loss of the passenger pigeon, whose last female died in 1914 at the Cincinnati Zoo. The passenger pigeon was one of the most common birds in America before hunting and habitat loss led to their extinction. Today, many beloved birds will meet the same fate if we don’t take action.”

ARTIST BIO: Abigail Morgan is an Art Education major and Undergraduate Research Fellow at Morehead State University. Her work is centered on nature and the play between it and human experience. Morgan has had work published in the 2025 publication of Inscape: Literary & Visual Arts Journal. She has had work displayed at the Rowan County Arts Center in Morehead, Kentucky. Her work was displayed at the Gateway Regional Arts Center in Mount Sterling, Kentucky.
