photos of watercolor postcards on board; each 17×30”
“After Trump was elected, and chaos ensued, I needed a productive way to express my grief and frustration. I began making these watercolor postcards, which both helped me learn watercolor and gave me a way to voice my resistance. I send them 6 days a week.
Each part of the process is important to me. The image, the text, the actual mailing of the cards. We are not helpless.”
ARTIST BIO: Kymberly Henson has been working in the arts for over 40 years. She is crazy for color and thoroughly enjoys the process of creating a color story in any medium. Kymberly has added mosaic, small mixed media sculptures and painting to her repertoire in recent years. In all of her work one will find narratives from her life and from lives that have touched her in some way. And in much of her work, her quirky sense of humor makes an appearance. For the last 20 years she has also worked on several series of work, in multiple mediums, that tell the stories of the abused, the powerless and the invisible. Art is the vehicle that gives Kymberly meaning, and breath, and hope.
