“There is a performative quality embedded in this process. A silent choreography of fingers, wrists, shoulders—the whole body contributing to a rhythm. It recalls the physical, historical act of using our hands to weave a basket or a piece of cloth: a gesture repeated across centuries, continents, and civilizations. The Pile At Her feet harnesses these movements using the restrictive and life threatening outcomes of the Dobbs vs. Jackson Women’s Health decision by weaving the ripped up document into traditional cordage.”
