monoprint with acrylic paint; 28 x 21”
“This piece addresses the climate change crisis through fantasy/surreal imagery. In a bleak, dry and bone-strewn landscape, a ‘nature child’ riding an endangered okapi carries an egg full of water. Her power to heal the environment is also symbolized by the flower she holds aloft to summon the rain, which at that moment is beginning to fall. This work symbolizes the hope and resiliency of nature when allied with humans.”
