“The song “Born Free” plays as Lady Liberty spins, but as the writing near the mirror asks “Are you free?” This updated music box includes hidden “treasure” in its drawers. Ribbons, flags, beads, and stamps adorn this box, but it questions how are the children, the immigrants, the people being treated in the USA.”

ARTIST BIO: Lauri Ann Aultman was born in Virginia, raised in Yellow Springs & Xenia (OH), and has lived in many places. Cincinnati has been her home since 2005. As an educator, poet and visual artist, Lauri Ann has been involved with SOS Art since moving to Cincinnati. Since 2009, her art has been displayed at Art Beyond Boundaries gallery. She has donated art to benefit Secret Artworks, HeART for the Sudan, CISV, and a shelter for abused women. Lauri Ann has worked in arts education at museums, recreation centers, and after-school programs. She is currently a teaching artist in Cincinnati.
