“In these difficult times, I find myself retreating into nature for peace more and more. My dad used to play a song “If I could put time in a bottle.” I would rather just have peace & love. The other reason this scene brings me peace is it reminds me of the lightning bugs (fireflies) which are my favorite summer visitors. Let’s be like the lightning bugs and let our lights shine!”
ARTIST BIO: Lauri Ann Aultman was born in Virginia, raised in Yellow Springs & Xenia (OH), and has lived in many places. Cincinnati has been her home since 2005. As an educator, poet and visual artist, Lauri Ann has been involved with SOS Art since moving to Cincinnati. Since 2009, her art has been displayed at Art Beyond Boundaries gallery. She has donated art to benefit Secret Artworks, HeART for the Sudan, CISV, and a shelter for abused women. Lauri Ann has worked in arts education at museums, recreation centers, and after-school programs. She is currently a teaching artist in Cincinnati.
