monotype gelli plate print; 10×10” (image 6×6”)
“The human rights declaration I chose was Women’s Rights. I was trying to communicate the message that everyone should have control over their bodies. No one should be allowed to put a law on someone else’s body. My piece communicates that men with higher power try to choose what is best for a woman’s body. The pregnant woman in the image is looked down on by the “symbol” of a man. This woman is forced to carry a baby that she doesn’t want because some man put a law on her body. I want my piece to communicate that anyone should be able to share their opinion and shouldn’t let anyone make them do anything.”
