“Eradication 1, 2, 3 depicts an encounter between bees and cherubs. Bees are emblematic of warriors, danger and violence but also symbolize royalty, community, love, fertility, industriousness, perseverance and prosperity. The weapon wielding cherubs represent children perceived as threats or otherwise victimized. t.h.u.g.l.i.f.e. The triptych shows an image being eradicated: destroyed, eliminated, exterminated, removed. “
ARTIST BIO: Kevin Harris works in a wide range of media and explores a variety of themes, but he views Printmaking as the foundation of his practice. As a printmaker, Kevin prefers to pursue variations on an image—the imperfect clone—rather than an edition of identical multiples. His current work uses digital processes to combine collage, drawing, painting, photography and printmaking.
