“Níos Mó Gaeilge a Labhairt analyzes the intersection of memory, family, and language. The Irish language, alongside dozens of others, has a long history of suppression by the British government and is recently experiencing a revival. I use personal memory and figures in my life who speak Irish to tell everyone: Speak More Irish!”
ARTIST BIO: Katherine Donaghy is a multimedia artist from Cincinnati, Ohio. She is a summa cum laude graduate from the University of Cincinnati with a BFA in Fine Arts with two minors in Art History and Marketing. She primarily works with two-dimensional media, particularly drawing, painting, and collage. Her interdisciplinary approach to art making is vital to her creative process. Her current series Thinking of the Island explores her Irish heritage through land, memory, and history.
