“While calling upon personal and historical references, this work analyzes the intersection of memory, family, and land through a layered and interpersonal lens. I specifically concentrate on my family, including my dad—who grew up in a border town in the North of Ireland in the 1970s.”
ARTIST BIO: Katherine Donaghy is a multimedia artist from Cincinnati, Ohio. She is a summa cum laude graduate from the University of Cincinnati with a BFA in Fine Arts with two minors in Art History and Marketing. She primarily works with two-dimensional media, particularly drawing, painting, and collage. Her interdisciplinary approach to art making is vital to her creative process. Her current series Thinking of the Island explores her Irish heritage through land, memory, and history.
