“This piece is about feelings of betrayal. The canine represents undying loyalty, but in a foolish, blind and overdependent way. In my experience as a transguy, I’ve found myself loyal to the wrong people, and in some ways using relationships in order to receive validation of my identity and in the end it has hurt me and others. Through these experiences I’ve learned that the only true validation must come from within myself.”
