“My interest in the Peace & Justice show follows my need as an artist to make comments, through my artwork, on various social/political problems. Before this painting happened I was viewing TV news and reading about the needless killing of innocent people of color, often by those being paid to protect all citizens. I thought at first it was a one-off event but no, it seems to continue. I feel artists can shed light and awareness on this subject.
I often work with collage elements to create this type of artwork as the best way I can tell a story. I add drawing and painting to the mix to complete the narration.”

ARTIST BIO: Michael Sharber received undergraduate degrees in Painting & Sculpture from Middle Tennessee State University and a Master degree in Sculpture from University of Cincinnati. He was Adjunct Professor for two years and has been doing architecture, painting, and sculpture in Santa Fe for 41 years.
