“The UN Declaration of Human Rights that I chose as my inspiration for this piece was Article 12, the right to privacy allowed for everyone, meaning that someone can not infringe on another individual’s family, home, or personal information without permission. In our current society, social media and cell phones allow for everyone to see everything about everyone, and suspicions of revoked privacy are commonplace. I thought that expressing this by having an individual holding a phone and having eyes trying to see what she is doing would be able to portray this violation of privacy through technology. Through this piece, I want to convey the message of caution with social media, and the importance of preserving your privacy. “
