“In my work, eggs have always functioned as a symbol of renewal and rebirth. In this bare, dry, post-apocalyptic landscape, I imagine them as magical containers for precious sprouting seeds. The flower-headed girl is aligned with the powers of nature, tending the seeds along with her companions, the crane and the ibis. Perhaps, with much love and care, they will succeed in re-greening the Earth. Again, I wanted the overall story to be one of hope in the face of desperate times.”
