This artist book is not about a particular social issue related to peace and justice; instead it is about all the bad news I read in the newspaper or watch on the evening news. It reflects my anger and frustration resulting from fake news, election denial, the assault on the capitol, book banning, legislatures making it more difficult for some to vote, education “reform” and the like.

ARTIST BIO: Patty Bertsch first became interested in book making some 20 years ago when she joined the Cincinnati Book Arts Society. Most of the books she makes have a traditional structure and have been made for an exhibit. Many have a theme, but a few, however, are abstract and have no semblance to a traditional book. Some have pop-ups; others may include photography and calligraphy, or even stories or poetry she has written.
