We are thrilled to announce that Libby Defoor is the artist in residence for the autumn cycle of 2025. Her work protests the increasing lack of rights for bodily autonomy in the state of Ohio and across the United States, and encourages solidarity in the face of struggle, bodily autonomy defined as the right to make decisions about one’s own body free from coercion, violence or control, such as the right to an abortion, gender affirming care, and LGBTQ+ rights to healthcare. During the residency, Libby will create a series of paper sculptures that respond to specific pieces of legislation that target bodily autonomy rights or speak on broader themes of community resistance and solidarity.
