Residency Cycle 4- July- September 2025

Erica Fitzgerald  was the Artist-in-Residence for the 2025 Summer cycle. Erica Fitzgerald used her SOS ART residence to develop a new body of large-scale textile works that explored repair as a feminist and activist gesture. Her textile art pieces were created into monumental forms that embodied resistance to patriarchal systems and the devaluation of women’s labor. Erica also led a free community workshop involving participants to create collectively a similar large tapestry based on the same idea and concept. All the created works were exhibited at the end of her residency at the Fitton Center for the Creative Arts.
